An interesting discussion on what it takes to be a good teacher, from The RSA and Teach First through their Education Matters Debates.
A few points I’ve grabbed that outline some characteristics of good teachers:
- Reflective teachers who adapt to meet the needs of their learners
- Learning with and from other teachers – an ongoing learning experience
- Those that never let failure get the better of them
- Being tough on standards
- Expert facilitators of peer-to-peer learning and discussion.
